Scholarship Component Description & Key Eligibility
Fisheries Industry Leader Grant (FILG)
The FSP-FILG is a merit-based scholarship designed for Senior High School students who belong to the list of honor students in their graduating class.
Fisherfolk Children Educational Grant (FCEG)
The FSP-FCEG is specifically for High School graduates whose parents are registered municipal fisherfolk, providing equitable access to fisheries education.
Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs-IPs)
The FSP-ICCs-IPs is open to Senior High School graduates or graduating students who are documented members of a tribe recognized by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP).

Program Objectives

• To produce professional manpower to serve the requirements of both the government and the fisheries industry and other related institutions by way of financial assistance to deserving Senior high school graduates.
• To assist in the placement of graduates of this program in appropriate employment opportunities in the fisheries industry and other related industries as well.
• To complement and reinforce BFAR’s overall goals through manpower development.
• To assist deserving student whose parent (s) or legal guardian is a Registered Fisherfolk (FishR/Mangingisdang Juan) or those members of the Pamumulakaw Tribe of ICCs Ips recognized by the National Commission on Indigenous People’s (NCIP) in the pursuit of college education for their socioeconomic improvement.

Scholarship Benefits:

  • Tuition and other school fees (except dormitory fee)
  • Monthly stipend/living allowance: Php 5,000.00
  • Semestral book allowance: Php 2,000.00
  • On-the-Job training support: Php 3,000.00
  • Thesis Support: Php 7,000.00
  • Graduation (clothing) allowance: Php 1,500.00


How to Apply

There are three ways to apply for the scholarship:

  1. You may apply directly via BFAR E-Scholarship Application System! 
  2. Or you may opt to download the application form (available at the “downloadable forms” corner of this website) and submit your application documents at scholarship.bfarregion13@gmail.com;
  3. Or hand over copy of your printed application documents and submit them to your Municipal Agriculture Office or to the nearest BFAR Provincial Fisheries Office.
