In 2013, the Records Section of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has an approved project for the development of a system designed to monitor and track the movement of documents being received (external) and released by the Bureau. Said project is the Document Tracking System (DTS). The project is in collaboration with the Fisheries Management Information Center (FIMC) and the Director’s Office. The development of the DTS will improve the delivery of the services of the Bureau to the public. This will also enable the Bureau to comply with the provisions of the National Archives of the Philippines Act of 2007, instructing all agency to have a receiving and releasing unit of all communications for proper recording and routing procedures under the accountability of the Records officer/Custodian, and in line with the implementation of Republic Act 9485, or the Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA) of 2007. The Document Tracking System provides timely and accurate handling, distribution and processing of all incoming and outgoing documents while utilizing staff and resources effectively and efficiently with auditable accountability.
