Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM) Orientation and Planning Workshop
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) - Caraga, resource speakers and representatives from the Local Government Units (LGUs) of coastal municipalities around Lake Mainit convened today for the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM) Orientation and Planning Workshop in Sta. Monica, Siargao Island.
Senior Agriculturist Antonio Perral from the Surigao del Norte Provincial Agriculture Office and Professor Reynald Gimena of MSU-Marawi talked about the ecosystem and its approach in fisheries management.
The 3-day workshop (until March 7, 2019) is in line with the bureau’s program to promote fisheries management, protection and conservation of marine and aquatic resources in Lake Mainit, which is the deepest and fourth largest lake in the Philippines.
