DA-BFAR Caraga New OIC RD visits Fisheries Quarantine Checkpoint in Pulang Lupa, Trento, Agusan Sur
It is a working holiday for the newly designated OIC-Regional Director of DA-BFAR Caraga, Dr. Nilo S. Katada as he visited the Fisheries Quarantine Checkpoint in Pulang Lupa, Trento, Agusan del Sur on Friday, April 9, 2021.
Dr. Katada joined the composite team of the Bureau in the conduct of inspection to all fishery and other aquatic product carriers, so as to ensure that transboundary movement of these commodities in the boundary of both Davao and Caraga regions are properly authorized, documented, lawful, and free from any concealments.
It has been a month since the Bureau established strong enforcement of relevant fishery and aquatic regulations, which led to the issuance of violation notices to some non-compliant transporters. With the new management and leadership of Dr. Katada, he further assured that these laws and regulations shall be stringently observed and adhered to and that Fishery Quarantine Officers in the region are inspired and motivated to continue doing its mandate.
