This was the encouraging message of Regional Fisherfolk Director Eddie G. Matula as the DA-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Caraga formally capped off the celebration of the Farmers' and Fisherfolk's Month (FFM) on Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Regional Fisherfolk Training Center in Butuan City.
During his month-long stint, RFD Matula was able to expose himself to various fisheries projects and activities, and personally experienced the operation and project implementation of DA-BFAR in Caraga region.
In his message, Matula expressed his salutation to DA-BFAR Caraga for giving him the opportunity to serve as the 2021 Regional Fisherfolk Director.
Assistant Regional Director Edgardo P. Balambao thanked RFD Matula for appreciating the programs and projects of DA-BFAR, and hoped that RFD Matula will continue his engagement with DA-BFAR especially in the Provincial Fisheries Office of Agusan del Sur.
Likewise, OIC Regional Director Dr. Nilo Selim Katada challenged RFD Matula to help DA-BFAR in educating the fishing communities or people's organization on the government processes and policy guidelines on the implementation of programs and projects.
Moreover, RD Katada handed over a token and a Certificate of Appreciation to RFD Matula for his unwavering support and dedication as the 2021 Regional Fisherfolk Director.
The FFM culminating activity was graced by DA-BFAR Caraga Key Officials, Division and Section Heads, and Provincial Fishery Officers.
