Patayon to Sit as BFAR-Caraga Mangingisdang Direktor in May

[SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte, April 29, 2019] – The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) – Caraga is once again holding its Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Month Celebration this May 2019. This year’s theme is “Nasa pagkakaisa ang lakas at nasa samasamang pagkilos ang tagumpay.”

The opening ceremony will be held on May 2, 1:00PM at the Regional Fisherfolk Training Center in Masao, Butuan City.

The activity will highlight the ceremonial turn-over of the BFAR Key of Responsibilities and installation of Robustiano S. Patayon Jr as this year’s Regional Fisherfolk Director (RFD). Mr Patayon from Loreto, Province of Dinagat Islands will take charge of the Office of the Regional Director for the whole month of May, while BFAR-Caraga Regional Director Visa Tan-Dimerin will undergo community immersion in coastal villages across the region.

Ruben M. Timogan from Nasipit, Agusan del Norte is the outgoing RFD.

The 15th Fisherfolk Directorship Program of BFAR is based on the provisions of Department of Agriculture (DA) Special Order No. 88 series of 2005.

This event will gather fisherfolk leaders, the municipal/city and provincial agriculture offices, personnel from the provinces and facilities of BFAR-Caraga, and the BFAR employees and staff.
