#33NSM | Regional Director Dr. Nilo Selim Katada joined the Opening Ceremony of the 33rd National Statistics Month (NSM) on Monday, 10 October 2022, at SM City Events Center, Butuan City.

The National Statistics Month celebration is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647, “Declaring the Month of October of every year as the National Statistics Month.” The 33rd NSM is anchored on the theme, “Boosting the Country’s Recovery with Informed Decisions, Better Policies.”

During the program, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Director Rosalinda Celeste-Apura reiterated the aim of the NSM, which are:

1. to promote, enhance and instill awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society; and

2. to elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country.

RD Apura also presented the Calendar of Activities for the NSM month-long celebration.

Earlier this year, the PSA released Memorandum Circular No. 2022-14 dated 06 July 2022 enjoining all agencies of the government, local government units, academic institutions, state universities and colleges, and the private sector at the national and sub-national levels to actively participate in and support the celebration of the 33rd NSM.
